Andre "3000" Benjamin is the subject of a lawsuit claiming that the Outkast MC stole ideas for his now-canceled Cartoon Network series "Class of 3000" from a Boston postal worker/former art student named Timothy McGee, according to BostonHerald.com blog Inside Track [via Rolling Stone's Rock and Roll Daily].
The suit claims that in 1997, McGee proposed an animated show called "The Music Factory of the '90s" to Cartoon Network's then-vice president of programming Michael Lazzo. The show was rejected. Inside Track reports that the suit states, "the similarities between the expression of Mr. McGee's work in 'The Music Factory' and that of 'Class of 3000' are sufficiently detailed and pervasive."
For instance, "The Music Factory" featured "a young corporate type" with music production aspirations as well as a "tough full-of-attitude female executive, a young techno-whiz sound engineer, a talented young Asian singer, and a central energetic young singer/rapper."
"Class of 3000", on the other hand, had "an energetic, aspiring music producer, a 'tough, brash full-of-attitude' female string player, a 'technological genius bass player, and talented twins of Asian ethnicity,' the suit says," per Inside Track.
According to the suit, McGee wanted Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds to host "The Music Factory"; Andre 3000 hosted "Class of 3000".
McGee's suit accuses Benjamin, the Cartoon Network, and Turner Broadcasting of "copyright infringement, breach of contract, and misappropriation of trade secrets." As payment, it requests all profits from the show, legal fees, and "whatever this court may deem additionally just and proper."
Jerrold Neeff, McGee's attorney and a Boston University law professor, told Inside Track, "We've requested $2 million in damages thus far, and the rest remains to be seen."
Cartoon Network told Inside Track that they are aware of the suit, but didn't offer comment.

Like Georgia in hell

Like Georgia in hell
A new arrival in Hell was brought before the devil. The devil told his demon to put the man to work on a rock pile with a 20-pound sledge hammer in 95 degree heat with 95% humidity.
At the end of the day, the devil went to see how the man was doing, only to find him smiling and singing as he pounded rocks. The man explained that the heat and hard labor were very similar to those on his beloved farm back in Georgia.
The devil told his demon to turn up the heat to 120 degrees, with 100% humidity. At the end of the next day, the devil again checked on the new man,and found him still happy to be sweating and straining. The man explained that it felt like the old days, when he had to clean out his silo in the middle of August on his beloved farm back in Georgia.
At that, the devil told his demon to lower the temperature for this man to -20 degrees with a 40 mph wind. At the end of the next day, the devil was confident that he would find the man miserable. But, the man was instead singing louder than ever, twirling the sledge hammer like a baton. When the devil asked him why, he was so happy, the man answered,
"Cold day in hell, the Falcons must be in the SuperBowl!"

Kanye Sells 443k, While, “Theater Of The Mind,” Sells 212k Posted: 02 Dec 2008 06:16 PM CST |
Of course Knaye sales this time around would be allot lower than “Graduation”, what with the poor economy, no “50 Cent vs Kanye West” hype, not to mention the his auto-tune induced, 808’s which are really 909’s singer/rap album is a complete three sixty from his previous work which may have thrown his fans off a little. None this less 443k is not a failure by any standard especially given our economic current slump.
Ludacris on the other hand sold half of what Kanye did in his first week even though from a Hip Hop stand point, Luda clearly has a better rap album. This could be a result of him not having a super hit record even though “One More Drink” is currently climbing the charts. None the less 212k is not a failure and if you heard his album you would know he still has a few tracks that could be big singles. He’s only on his second single so far.
So who’s album are you guys feeling more….

The story of the late great rapper, Christopher Wallace, is retold through the eyes of director George Tillman as he recounts to The Source how he managed to bring the legendary rapper’s life to the big screen. Voletta Wallace, Wayne Barrow and Mark Pitts (former managers), Lil’ Cease and many of Wallace’s closest confidants and business partners give recollections of their experiences during the filming of the movie. Voletta Wallace, mother of Notorious B.I.G. states in the article, “Maybe I’ll cry my heart out; maybe I’ll just laugh myself silly. I really don’t know what I’m going to do after I see the film.”

Street Fighter II has been remastered into HD for a release on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network. To commemorate the occasion, they put together the Street Fighter Underground Remix mixtape, with all the instrumentals sampled from the game (even the sound effects and the announcers!) East of LA has several more tracks from the soundtrack for download, including tracks by Hieroglyphics and Zion I.
If any of you are Street Fighter fans then recognize that this sample is from Guile’s stage in Street Fighter II, this is a ill same they eve used the sounds from when you select a fighter in the actual rhymes, shit is crazy.
